Be Part of the Largest Art Projects MCHS Has Ever Seen

Building-Dreams

The Art Department and many, many students, have been working with artist Carter Hubbard to design large art projects that will be displayed in Middle Creek High’s foyer. Now the students need your help. Yes. You the parents. You the community. By filling out two simple surveys, you will fuel the energy needed to make these project come alive. It’s your chance to be part of MCHS history.

The students created a three and a half minute video to introduce the art projects and why your responses are so important. The video can be seen by tapping the image above or by going here at YouTube.

The links to the surveys can be found by visiting the links below

Data on the Fly!

Data on the fly

Data on the Fly! is an exciting one-day STEM immersion program at RDU airport for high school students on Friday, April 21, 2017. The event is produced by SAS Institute in collaboration with the NC Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Science Festival. Selected students will have the opportunity to tour the air traffic control tower, build a flight data collection device, test their device using real-time data from incoming and outgoing aircraft, and analyze their data alongside SAS professionals.

We would like students from your high school to be represented!

There is no fee from the program but students will need to apply. They will also need permission to be out of school on that day and will have to arrange for transportation to the DOT hangar at RDU. Directions will be provided once the 25 students are selected.

Students must apply by Wednesday, March 8th and can access the short application here:https://goo.gl/forms/USv1w1IOoAmsYqGi2

PTSA Meeting and Reflections Reception – Monday Night

HERO-Reflections

Please join us on Monday, February 27 at 6pm in the Media Center for our PTSA meeting. This month, we will be discussing the details of our STEM project for the year. As your Academic Booster Club, the PTSA has purchased Breakout EDU kits for use in the classroom. We will learn more about how these materials are working and what further steps we can take to support this innovative learning project.

Mr. Martin will be with us, and this meeting is a great opportunity to hear directly from our principal.

The Reflections Reception to celebrate the artistic achievements of our talented students will follow the meeting at 7pm. Light refreshments will be served.
